Dear Friends of the PGC:

We are happy to say that our programs have now fully resumed and are better than ever! With support from individuals like you, the PGC has weathered our challenges. We have much to celebrate and we look forward to a bright future.

In 2021 your support allowed us to:

  • welcome low-income, Spanish-speaking participants to our studio through a partnership with senior
    centers in Lancaster County,
  • create a new opportunity for members to sell their work and increase earned income for the PGC through
our pilot “PGC Trunk Show” program held at senior centers throughout Lancaster County, and
  • brainstorm with our chapters to identify and execute new ways to serve our communities and increase income for the PGC and our member artists.

In 2022 with your support, we plan to:

  • hold four Fine Craft Fairs including a new venue at Ludwig’s Corner in Chester County, PA,
  • bring fine craft directly to those with mobility limitations via our pilot “Trunk Show” program,
  • launch a redesigned website providing resources, information, and better service to our membership and
    community, and
  • capitalize on training from the DeVos Institute of Arts Management to build social cohesion through fine
craft and strengthen our organization’s partnerships, planning, communication, and fundraising.

Please consider a charitable gift of $50, $100, or more to the PGC. Your gift can be made easily online via the link below. Whatever amount or method works best for you, please know that your contribution is deeply appreciated, and will help us to continue to create exciting opportunities to engage you in fine craft.

We are thrilled to announce that a generous donor will match 50% of all gifts made prior to December 31st – your gift of $50, $100 or $500 becomes $75, $150 or $750!

We are grateful for your support of the PGC. We wish you a happy holiday season and a healthy new year.

Karen Peiffer, PGC Board President and Erika Juran, PGC Executive Director

Since 1944, the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen (PGC) has advocated for and offered educational resources for makers of fine craft in Pennsylvania and surrounding states.   We believe that fine craft, both traditional and contemporary, enriches the lives of individuals and the community as a whole.  We strive to preserve the tradition of artisan-made items for future generations through education and community engagement.  We are also committed to supporting and promoting excellence in working craftsmen through exhibitions, retail opportunities, professional development, and continuing education.

Your support allows us to keep workshops affordable, providing access to hundreds of students each year. It allows us to offer retail opportunities for our members to exhibit their work for sale in our Guild Store.  We can assist Emerging Artists and offer free community events such as demonstrations and exhibits. Your support also works to ensure that the Guild can continue to serve as a cultural leader in the arts, furthering our mission nationally as well as locally. Please consider supporting the arts today!

Persons who are aged 70 or older may find it beneficial to donate a portion of the Required Minimum Distribution from their Individual Retirement Account (IRA) or 401k retirement account directly to the PGC.  Other forms of “planned giving” to PGC include a bequest or naming PGC as a beneficiary of your retirement account or insurance policy.  Please consult with your financial advisor for details.

If you have any questions about how to give or how your gift will be used, please contact PGC Executive Director (Ph: 717-431-8706; email: Execdirector.pacrafts@gmail.com).
